Christmas light installation in The Peninsula
Cornelius’s lakefront community off Jetton Road, built around the private Peninsula Club.
About The Peninsula
The land off Jetton Road in Cornelius was once set aside for a Duke Power steam plant. When that plan was dropped, Duke’s development arm built The Peninsula instead: about 750 custom homes around the private Peninsula Club, whose course opened in 1990 as a Rees Jones design and reopened in 2024 after a renovation by Beau Welling.
Many homes sit on mature, wooded lots with Lake Norman frontage and private docks. Each December the Lake Norman Lighted Christmas Boat Parade stops at the Peninsula Yacht Club on its way from Blythe Landing to the Duke Energy Explorium, collecting toys for Little Smiles.
How we light The Peninsula homes
On The Peninsula the lake side of the house matters as much as the street side. We light rear rooflines, decks and docks so the home looks right from the water, especially on boat parade night.
Waterfront installs face wind off the lake. We use heavy-duty, outdoor-rated LED and fastening sized to each surface, and maintain the display all season if weather pulls a run down.
Design ideas that suit The Peninsula
- Lake-facing roofline and deck railing outlines
- Dock and boathouse lighting reflected on the water
- Wrapped trees along the shoreline
- Street-side entry wreaths and garland
Every install includes the lights, in-season maintenance, January takedown and labeled storage. See what installation costs or our luxury and estate lighting service.
